With some recent cold weather in Central Oregon, I've been feeling the pressure to get in my sixth peak! Saturday was a return to summer with a forecast of sunny and in the mid-80s, so of the remaining options Maiden seemed like a good choice with its long shaded approach.
Since this was my second time up this peak I decided to use a different trail than last time. I started from the Maiden Lake TH and went straight up to the summit, saving the side trip to Maiden Lake for the descent. The side trip is highly recommended! It was a nice place to stop and dip my feet while enjoying the beautiful view.
