This hike was an afternoon hike, partly because I didn't want to get up early and partly because I wanted to use this hike also as a training hike for a future trip to Coyote Buttes North. I started at around noon and hiked up. Most of the hikers I met were headed down. I even saw my friend Philip with his group who was headed down having summitted earlier in the day. The day was hot and sunny. Saw a few wildflowers on the trail although there was no superbloom. I got to the summit and had it all to myself. Then I headed down. The parking lot was closed by the time I returned to it, but I had foreseen that I would not be back before 1900H and had parked my car in the street so everything was good.
