Highway 2 is open until Vincent Gap , despite what GPS says. This is one of my favorite hikes because the trail is mostly shaded. It is loooong though . I counted 39 switchbacks one way . I could be off by one or two , but it's a lot for sure. There's a spring to replenish your water maybe halfway up. It was incredibly beautiful and spacious at the top. Plenty of room to back pack. Just bring your water because the spring is not close.
