Got up early on veterans day to do this hike and beat the crowds.  I hit the trail at 8am and was done by 11am.   It was nice to have plenty of parking in the parking garage and it was a free day due to the holiday.  The marine layer wasn't think so going up the hill there was some haze that made for nice photos but it was shaded in the morning for the everything but the top portion.  There was only one level area to relax the muscles once you got up the first sections of hills.  Other than that there weren't many intervals, it was all just uphill.   The last scramble to the top was interesting without much of a clear path.   But the views at the top were great and it was fun watching the ravens and hawks playing on the high winds at the peak.  Getting up there and out early was a good thing as there were a lot more people heading up as I was leaving the peak.
