We started the hike in the early afternoon with 2 dogs. It was uncomfortably sunny and hot going out, but luckily some refreshing breezes cooled us off intermittently. The hike is steep but doable, and it's mainly the heat and the lack of shade that makes the hike seem a bit harder than it really is. There were views of the city and cows along the way, but otherwise, it's a fairly monotonous hike with not that much variety and things to see. At the summit, there's a metal post that marks the directions and makes for an interesting photo-op. We did a loop, and the hike ended up being around 6.6 miles when tracked through AllTrails.
