Started at 0700 at the parking lot of Redbox Canyon – already gorgeous Mountain View’s with almost ethereal cloud coverage!
We crossed the street to the trailhead and began our hike to the peak. There were patches of snow on the trail which made for a very scenic route. The trail was well maintained and easy to follow. With gradual inclines here and there, it was a moderate first two miles. Then the trail leads you on the side of the mountain where mist and fog made it quite cool. It was like waking into the clouds!! The last mile or so was where it got pretty steep… almost a steady climb of big rocky stairs! Not as much of a scramble as Sitton Peak was but it was a steady steep climb.
At the top, we were greeted with snow capped mountains and a 360 degree view of all the peaks. It was a gorgeous hike throughout and really worth the trek up!
