This is my third summit of Mt. Wilson. I was so pleased that I beat my time and this was my first big hike of the season. Mt. Wilson is such a beautiful hike, all the water and greenery is stunning. For the first 3 miles, we were in awe as we always are when we hike this hike. We were looking forward to our lunch at the Cosmic cafe at the top! When we got to Sturtevant camp we started noticing the bugs getting active. We stopped and had a couple snacks until it became annoying. As we headed up the bugs came on with a vengeance. We had to wear nets, bug spray did no good. We did the loop and I noticed the bugs weren't as bad coming down. I was able to take the net off in some spots.
