What a gorgeous hike! It was so beautiful that I took my time, took a lot of breaks at vista points. There was no snow and no bugs. The temp was just right for a hike, in the 40s at the start and 50s as the day progressed. As you get near the hut at the top, the icy cold wind hits, so I had to stop to add a couple layers and gloves.
The six pack suggested route via Marion Mountain was deserted; around the 3 mile mark it connects to the more popular Deer Springs route (which is a tougher hike) and that’s when I passed a handful of other hikers. If you go now before the snow starts, you might have the trail to yourself!
