Lived in Bend for thirty years and this mountain was a first for me!

Weather was around 65F at the base. Due to construction at Sunrise Lodge, they temporarily moved the trailhead to West Village. Trail was marked with yellow signs..easy to follow but you start uphill…all the way up! Fairly steep at the base then it becomes rocky but parts of the trail are sand which makes it fairly easy. Then it’s big boulders near the top of the summit lift.

Rewarded with panoramic views at the top. Keep going left when you reach the saddle and you’ll be greeted with gorgeous views and cold winds so bring a beanie and layers.

3.5 hrs up and 3 back. This mountain is challenging but beautiful!
