One of the more challenging hikes that I’ve encountered so far. It was filled with lots of switchbacks and it was a steady climb up for most of the hike. The trail runs concurrent with the Pacific Crest Trail so I did encounter lots of backpackers along the way. The area is very forested and I saw plenty of pine trees. At about 7,300’ I did begin to see several patches of snow, but once I got up to 7,800’ that’s when the rest of the trail was completely covered with snow. It was a bit challenging following the trail as I was hiking further up the mountain, but with microspikes eventually I was able to get through it. Once I got past the steep section of the mountain, I still had to hike about 1/4 a mile through a narrow path and then climb up the last 500 feet before eventually reaching the summit. The views from the top are incredible, I was able to get great views of several surrounding mountains as well as the desert.
