Juniper Campground is a good 25-30 min curvy drive from the parks entry point contending with the bikers first thing in the morning. It was worth the slow ride to reach the morning cloud cover and watch it burn off slowing while starting the hike. I took the Meridian Ridge fireroad that starts beyond the campground, to the bald ridge trail, to the north peak trail to the summit and back via the Juniper Trail. Temperature stayed cool although it was sunny. Took 4.5 hours in cluding 20 min at the summit visitors center.
