There and back again hike, starting from the Regency Drive entrance. Back Creek Trail to Bald Ridge trail to N Peak Trail and up the summit road to the top. 12.3 miles in total, started at about 11:00 and was down by 5:00 with a couple of breaks along the way. Between work, kids and rain it's been a month since I've hit the trails and I was feeling it!
Back Creek had some mud towards the bottom but not impassable. The creek was running strong but there was no problem crossing them (waterproof shoes didn't hurt!). It started getting cold close to Meridian road, with some ice and snow in the shadows – Back Creek has railroad ties (I think?) as occasional steps towards Meridian that were slippery so be careful!
The Summit was beautiful as always but COLD! Visibility was amazing, with San Francisco and the Golden Gate bridge clearly visible. Did I mention it was COLD?
