Arrived at 9am to make sure I got parking since it is a small dirt lot off the side of the highway or shoulder parking. Lot was almost full. It was a cold morning in the 30's but warmed up to 70 by the time I finished my hike at 1pm. The first mile and a half of the trail is through the trees and is pretty. After that the rest of the hike is all up a maintained gravel fire road to the top. I had on long sleeves but was wishing I had short sleeves as there is full sun up the mountain. This area burned last year so most of the trees are gone. There were two areas with rock climbers around mile 3. There were still a few patches of snow off the trail near the top of the mountain and at the summit. The winds were strong at the summit but the views were spectacular and you could see all the way to San Francisco. The trail is listed as “hard” but I didn't find it to be so at all.
