Went with my normal hiking group and got to the trailhead at 8:15AM. I took a wrong turn while getting here and almost ended up driving up the mountain through the fire road. Good thing there was a gate preventing people from doing that. Next time, I probably should do more due diligence over the directions rather than relying on Google Maps.
Weather started cold and then got pretty warm when we ended the hike. The weather wasn't too miserable but there's almost no shade for most of the hike.
Most of the hike was on the fire road I was about to drive on. We actually saw a local drive up and down the road for some reason, maybe to do some maintenance over the radio tower on top. The views in the fire road was amazing and definitely made the hike a lot better. Otherwise, the hike is pretty bland.
The incline was steady and wasn't too challenging at all. You could bring new hikers here and they would be able to complete it. Lots of variety of people on the trail too; saw rock climbers, trail runners and also other hikers.
There was also a cool rock that looked like a Pokemon in the far distance. I sorta want to try to find where that rock is and go there one day. Not sure where the trailhead would be at, but I'm sure there are some rock climbers tackling that.
At the top, the views was pretty great. Too bad it was overran with bugs, so we didn't stay for long up top.
