Definitely need AWD or 4WD or at minimum 2WD with high clearance to park at the trailhead off-road lot near Marion Mountain.  Started at 615am and lot was already filling up.  With the tram closure extended there were small groups on trail but multiple extended moments of solitude.  Trail was challenging to follow at times and I utilized my downloaded map to ensure I had picked the correct path up – much easier to follow on descent.  Only a handful of hikers at summit, but the weather could not have been more perfect – sunny, clear skies, no wind and no smoke.  Stunning views at summit and altitude was less of an impact this trek for me.  Overall a wonderful hike in the forest and definitely a repeat option!  A handful of downed trees remain on trail but easy enough to navigate around, although I have the advantage of height and a 36” inseam to get over them.
