16.8 miles, 4,390 vert feet, 7:27 incl 20 min at the top of Sizer. Excellent fast paced hike on a cooler October, started 7:30am, pay the $8 cash in envelope for parking. Mile 4.8 hits infamous ‘shortcut’ steep, some gravel, dusty, fire road. In fact most of the whole trail is fireroad. Have trail app, because roads and trails intertwine and it can be confusing. Took 4 liters water, drank 3, drank the 4th in the car on the way home. The peak is nuttin special, but the scenery the whole way is colorful and wild; hardly anybody for miles and miles.
