This is one of my favorite hikes. The snow this year makes it a little more exciting. Several snow fields to cross. One of them is especially steep, poles help. Flowers are starting to show but probably will be much better in the basin in two weeks or so. Saw two groups of mountain goats. The whole hike is beautiful with a peak at Scout Falls on the way.

I’m shooting to hike Timp mid September. I may go the Aspen Grove route. Are there water sources on the Timpooneke side? If you’ve done both, what are the pros and cons of each?
Mid September is going to be a great time for Timp. Timpooneke trail pros—more gradual ascent. I think this Is an “easy” peak hike, just long. If going to see wild flowers, Timpooneke is better for flowers. But mid September—less flowers anyway. Need a parking permit if hiking on the weekend. Timpanogos Trail—steeper ascent, harder trail in my opinion. But so many waterfalls and Emerald Lake to see. It’s a beautiful trail as well.
Oh and there are some water sources in the first 3 miles of Timpooneke. After that lots of snow right now. But not streams.
