After a six-month break from hiking, we decided to restart our adventures with a trip to Mount Umunhum. The hike was planned with my friends Rahul and Mohit, and we were eager to hit the trail again. We left San Ramon early in the morning, and after an hour-and-a-half drive, we were the first ones to reach the trailhead at 7:15 AM.

This hike was particularly special because I managed to bring my 13-year-old son, Neil, along. It was the day of his 13th birthday party, and what better way to start celebrations than with a hike in the great outdoors? My 20-year-old daughter, Sakhi, also joined us, making it a family affair.

Mount Umunhum offers some truly breathtaking views, and as we climbed higher, the beauty of the landscape reminded us why we love hiking so much. It was the perfect way to get back into our routine, surrounded by nature and good company.
