Looooong hike. Some parts were unrelenting. Definitely one of the tougher hikes and we totally overpacked our layers, expecting it to be a lot colder. Very little snow up at the very top, but just on the edges of the trail, not on the trail itself. The “peak” is anticlimactic. No signs, no actual peak/view. You've got the cosmic café up at the top but it's closed for the season. Beautiful trail but disappointed with the ending, kind of like Game of Thrones.

Congrats!! I totally hear you about over packing layers. I get pretty nervous on these winter hikes especially. A friend was coming with me on a hike recently, and she got nervous about the weather and screamed, “Am I gonna freeze to death?!” We couldn’t stop laughing, and we shout that at each other on a regular basis now. But … it’s a real fear!
Also, agree that somebody needs to make us a nice sign for Mt. Wilson so we can get that glory at the top. I hunted when I was up there and found the small geological marker, but … it’s nice to have that selfie glory, especially after climbing 4,800 dang feet.
