I am so excited to record this hike as this was my second attempt and I finally summited to the top. I was feeling great after reaching the waterfall and continuing on. Before reaching the ‘bench’, I began to feel dizzy and threw up a few times. I thought about stopping the hike altogether but decided to continue on. I finally made it to the top and spent some time in the cafe before beginning to descend. On the way down, I encountered a rattlesnake and on the way up a snake with black, white and red colors, rather thin and small. I also saw 18 lizards and so many beautiful butterflies of various colors. I felt so much better on the way down. My dizziness and stomach issues had dissipated after drinking half of a sprite from the cafe. The trail was narrow as always but dry. The sun was strong on the way down. There were not as many hikers or people on the trail as the last time that I was there. I started hiking at 5:30am and finished at 3:13pm. I saw some of the most beautiful mountain sights and the more that I ascended, the more beautiful and amazing the sights became. The mountains were amazing. Such a blessing to have been a part of this experience. On to the next one!
