Weather was awesome today. A break from the recent hot spell. This was a challenging but very rewarding hike. Encountered a couple of groups and many pleasant individuals up and down. Also encountered my first rattlesnake — a beautiful creature. I tossed a rock nearby to startle him away. That worked just fine though it was clearly annoyed — as I got to hear the rattle!
I took about 3L of water and a small Gatorade electrolyte drink. I had a water filter bag but didn’t need it.
Most of the hike I was above the cloud layer, which doesn’t happen often in LA.
