Trailhead is closed due to construction at Sunrise Lodge. We were told to follow a “service road” to get to the trail and Found the trail 1.5 miles later. Would have been easier just to follow some round yellow signs starting near the base of the Pine Marten Ski Lift that we saw on our descent. First half of the hike is forested with an easy to follow trail. The last half is very rocky and above the tree line. Sunny day and a nice breeze starting at the 7000’ level. Lots of butterflies along the way, a little snow off trail and gorgeous views of Cascade Lakes and mountains at the top. Fun to see without snow but I enjoy it more skiing than hiking.
