Good training hike. Snow is almost gone from the trail. From 8K to 10K there are small snow patches but can be easily walked around. In the last 100 ft from the summit, there is some snow but it's compact so no spikes were needed. Very warm on the trail so base layer would suffice but bring a jacket for the windy summit.

Congratulations! Looks beautiful! I’m planning on doing soon. Did you need crampons/microspikes for the ice? Regular hiking boots ok?
Hello,
No spikes / crampons were necessary. Regular hiking boots are okay. Snow is really in the last 100 feet and it’s solid / compact so you won’t be sliding too much. Just bring hiking poles with you to help on the way down. Start early around 6am as it gets really hot there. Best of luck.
