This was the first hike of the 6 pack of peaks. Started the hike from Manker Flats at 5:45am and made it to the top of the ski lift chair by 7am where we had breakfast. There were so many mosquitos and I had not prepared any form of bug protection or bug spray so it was extremely annoying as we were the breakfast for the mosquitos. From the ski lift/lodge area we slowly made our way to Devil's Backbone which had zero wind on this day. Then made our way to the summit which we reached around 11:30am. The summit was packed with people and after a quick rest we made our way back to cars and made it back by 3pm. We ran out of water during the last mile or so of the descent and due to the heat this was unpleasant.
