Hit the trail at 5:30 AM to avoid the heat. Haven’t hiked this trail in years and forgot…it’s a tough one. Started out on the road and after the waterfall cut up to the ski hut trail. It was steep but not too bad. Made it to the ski hut and it was full of people hanging out drinking coffee telling stories. Interesting crew. Continued on and the trail continues to get steeper. A few false summits along the way and finally made it to the top around 8:15 AM. Continued down devils back bone which had no snow on the trail but a little snow off the side. Made it down to the lodge for a coke and continued on to the bottom. Love this hike. Trails in killer condition. Do it early to miss the heat!
