We got to the trailhead at around 6:15am, and found street parking pretty close to the trailhead. We hiked counterclockwise, up the steeper side first. I’m glad we didn’t have to go down that side. We went down over the devils backbone and stopped for a beer at the ski lodge. After the lodge we started down the fire road and then found a short cut below the chairlifts. It was a more direct route, but very steep and slippery with loose rocks – would recommend sticking with the fire road or taking the chairlifts. Great views throughout. Lots of people on the trail, but the trail was often wide enough to pass without stopping. There was no snow on the trail, but some patches off the trail near the summit.
