Started at 7am, finished 7pm. Yes it took us ALL day but we took our time (obviously ????). We stayed with our first time friend and she may not be our friend anymore lol. We started from the parking lot that leads to the waterfall .5 mile in, then avoided the Notch by taking the Baldy Bowl Tr. This way lead us to the famous green Ski Hut where we ate, rested, took picture & used rr. Rr is located behind theSki Hut. BYO TP & sanitizer if you Olán on using this. The incline after the hut is the real deal. We saw others experiencing very bad leg cramping. Take items to help prevent this for yourself or fellow hikers. We are all in this together ???? Weather was warm & pleasant. No wind. Minimal to no shade after Ski Hut.
We took Devils backbone down, a longer yet more gradual decline. Miles from the Top of the Notch we could hear the live band. It was like angelic voices calling to us. We enjoyed a drink, used rr and refilled water at the Notch. We also took the ski lift down for $20 one way. Last lift runs at 8:45pm. This was my favorite route after previously taking different ways up to this peak. The lift gave it that full mountain experience. Oh and I left behind my hand painted wooden sign at the peak☺️????
