Started at Manker Flats and hiked up the service road to the Mt Baldy Notch and then up to the Mt Baldy summit. I had been planning on making this hike for a couple of weeks, but when I could go, the weather wasn't looking good – thunder heads over the San Gabriel Mountains and/or smoke. Finally, I had some time and the weather was nice. No clouds in the area, but I did see thunder heads forming over the San Bernardino mountains and in the High Desert. I kept an eye on them, but they stayed away from the Mt Baldy area. I don't normally hike on Mondays, but found they are nice days to hike on, very quiet with very few hikers.
