This is the 2nd time we hiked Mt Baldy. The first time we hiked the full 12.5 miles as a training hike for Half Dome. The 2nd time we opted to take the ski lift which shortened it to a 6.5 mile hike. The challenge or the advantage (depends on your view point) with starting it after the ski lift is that you start off with a steep climb instead of getting a few miles under your belt before tackling it. Either way I have enjoyed hiking Mt Baldy both times and would definitely hike it again. Since our hike was shorter this time a few of us got to enjoy zip lining after our hike.
