We began at 6am. It was already 70 degrees and the parking lot was nearly full. We went clockwise up the bowl by the ski hut and then down via the backbone and fire road, which meant we had shade for most of the ascent and a comparatively easy walk down (but no shade) when we were very hot and tired. It was hazy, but the view was still incredible. The last mile or so plus elevation nearly did me in. I’m proud of myself for making it!
