Started this hike about 6:30 am. Day was perfect with clear skies. Trail was snow free until about the ski hut. Friends used micro spikes and I used crampons.  Crampons made it easier for sure. It was a taxing hike that took much longer than it should; the ski hut was open and the volunteer treated hikers to perfectly cooked bacon, delicious sausage and cinnamon rolls. Yum! It was Mother’s Day so the parking lot, the trail and summit were not at all crowded. Pretty much had it to ourselves where we were able to kill time playing in the snow.  SO. MUCH.FUN!!!
