This was the first hike I completed with hiking boots (I know, I'm a beginner), but the issue was that they were brand new before the start of our ascent. Other than my feet hurting though, I only took about 40 oz. of water in my hydration pack. When we reached the ski lodge restaurant, we ate some fruit and Cliff Bars but we never thought to refill our water packs. WORST MISTAKE EVER! Going up Devil's backbone, Robert let me know he was out of water (I still had some) and I shared with him some of mine. Well, by the time we made it to the top, I was so tired I had to stop and as much as I tried to hold it in, I started crying. I pulled it together for the photo and we made our descent. On our way down I felt like my head was going to explode with every step and I honestly can't remember how we made it back to the car that day. The only amazing thing about the hike was that we got to see long horned sheep! They're so so beautiful!
