It was a beautiful day and we started early. We were at the trail around 6:30am and it was well worth it as it got really warm quickly.
This was the first time I hiked Mt. Baldy and I hiked it with a friend. We are both training for Mt. Whitney.
I have to say, this hike was more strenuous than I thought it would be. The way up exhausted me quite a bit but it was the way down that absolutely did me in. We hiked at a very fast pace (my friend is a trail runner and he generally uses Mt. Baldy to train) so this was easy for him but not for me. Half way down my knees started hurting. That said, the view from the peak was well worth it and I definitely hike Mt. Baldy again but at a much slower pace and with proper use of my hiking poles.
