Having done this hike a couple years ago, I decided to wait until the fall do repeat this hike foe the SH challenge, and boy was it worth it. Driving along the Kancamagus highway and see all the vibrant red/yellow/orange/green leaves blending together for a picture perfect photo, and THEN seeing @ the top of the the mountain, it made for an awesome view.  Yes it did rain for a split second, but at the top, we got a short but nice break to get that 360 degree view of southern NH, and all the wonderful colors/views that it had to offer. Champney falls is just an amazing spot and I was so glad that I was able to bring my friend and show it to him, instead of just the photos that he had seen me being there 3-4 years ago. He LOVED the falls, and I did to, but not quite as much at the view at the top!
