Okay, finally, a timely report. Due to technical difficulties (unrelated to hiking), I did not get to the trailhead until 8:30am. I found a spot to park on the road, no damage to my vehicle so calling it a win. Better plan is to get there EARLY and secure a spot in the lot. It was a bit busy between the trailhead and Mason Lake, but after Mason Lake I had the woods mostly to myself. The trail is snow free and in reasonably good condition. That last push to the summit is a good quad and lung test – glad I opted not to carry extra weight in my pack. The wildflowers are starting to pop, but not quite at their peak, it will be stunning when they are in full bloom. Views abound – Mt Rainier, Mt Adams and Mt Baker were all in clear view.
