This trail is about as well maintained as they come, and for good reason – this trail network is popular.
Of the hikes included in the '22 Arizona summer challenge, I'd suggest this one as the most ‘beginner' friendly. Relatedly, this made for a fantastic starting point into the 6PP (and how i learned of it!)
Generally bug free, void of clostrophobic corridors and a lack of technical climbing help to make it so. Instead, wide open spaces and great views own the day on this trail.
All in all, a fantastic trip with an extra bonus – after checking the box on the peak, there's still myriad trails on offer here – running out of new won't happen at Mt. Elden.
