Spent my formative years skiing the other side of the mountain with my parents, I had a fortunate childhood. It was a real trip to hike up the back side from Underhill State Park.
Bugs existed but once again were not bothersome.
Wildflowers out and about , but you have to look for them.
Of the four mountains climbed so far (Greylock, Monadnock , Lincoln and Mansfield) this one has the best rock outcrops to cross. Alas the same cannot be said about the summit, due to the access of the toll road the top was the most crowded peak yet. Still able to socially distance.
Just an observation , the hikers in Vermont take socially distancing and mask wearing far more serious than this I encountered in NH.
