The hike to the hut was pretty smooth. There were patches of ice here and there but it was doable without any equipment. From the hut forward, we needed to use our traction spikes and poles. The hike got steep from that point forward and there was plenty of snow to navigate through. We debated doing the loop but decided against it due to the snow at the top and thought it wasn't worth the risk. Maybe in the spring when it's less dangerous. A challenging hike, especially with snow, but worth the views. Also caught a beautiful sunset coming down, so it definitely the right call.
