Believe the hype when it comes to the drive up to Pilchuck high clearance vehicle is probably best. But it can be pulled off in a regular vehicle. Getting here is almost as challenging as the hike. Take your time on these potholes.
it’s a steady elevation gain all the way up, but there are some nice breaks. The rock and boulder climb is manageable and more like climbing stairs on the way up. The last 100-200’feet is upper and lower exercise. At least it was for me. I had to carry my pup up as the boulders were a little much for him
Finished up in about 3.5 hours. Good day up there.
