My partner and I had to put on our traction spikes from the get-go. The road up to Pinos isn't too steep but there was ice, slush, and snow which made the hike a little harder than it would be during another season. It smoothens out once you get to Pinos. Great views before descending to get to Sawmill. It looked like no one had hiked this part of the trail since it last snowed, so there was a little bit of adventuring on the switchback part of the trail and parts going up Sawmill. There was a sea of white clouds that covered the valleys, lower mountains and the ocean. In the other direction you could see the storm clouds rolling in and we would get fast passing thin clouds. It was beautiful up there, both on Sawmill and Pinos. The snow even let me see some wildlife tracks. Pretty sure there was a wildcat as well as a bear and her cub at some point. Despite the snow conditions, it was probably the easiest of the peaks we got to summit this year.
