Short hike, short report!
It was a good day to summit Mount Saint Helena and complete an OTP and 6 Pack of Peaks challenge! We hiked just over 11 miles, gaining 2438 in elevation in about 4 hours. We even hit an additional two summits along the way back down the main trail.
We started off at 8am sharp and headed up the main trail. The parking lot was filling up and however the trail had few hikers on it starting out. The weather was partly sunny but by 11am it was overcast and cooler. We even felt a few rain drops on us on the way back down.
On the way up the clouds held off and the views were enjoyed. We hit the summit at about 1015 and took a good break. We could see the clouds beginning to roll in.
On the way back down, we hit “middle peak” and South Peak to add a little more elevation and a mile. We also encountered more hikers and a few rock climbers.
We were back at the packed parking lot at about 12:20 and I was back home by 2!
