I started a bit later than usual on this hike, at 7am. I met a father and son at the trailhead, we kept crossing each other along the trail, they were very nice people. The trail was amazing, not too difficult or easy. It was a bit chilly in the morning but after a mile or so I took off a couple of layers. The weather was perfect except when I was reaching the peak, every once in a while the winds would pick up. I met another hiker when I was almost to the peak. We kept eachother company for the last mile or or two. The last .3 miles it's a bit of a scramble over boulders to reach the peak. San Jacinto was my last peak for this challenge. When I reached the peak it was spectacular. The views and the clarity was jaw dropping. It was an unforgettable experience. After the picture and just taking in the views for a bit I started on my way back. I ended up meeting the father and son again and we ended up hiking all the way down together. 8 and a half hours later I returned to my car and I felt great. I will definitely do this hike again.
