Took the 2nd tram up to the top and the weather was about 70 degrees (80 at base). The meadow at Round Loop was bone dry, don't anticipate being able to pump water. I took 2L of water in my day pack water bladder and drank 0.5L up to the Summit and 1.5L coming back. I had an extra 1L (total 3L carried) water for the end of the hike. Made it to the Overlook point in a little over 1 hour and from the Overlook Point to the Summit in another hour. I carried a small Camelback day pack and had beef jerky, apples & almond butter, nuts and dried fruit, baby carrots for snacks with a sandwich for lunch. It was windy on the ascent from the Overlook to the Summit but the Summit was very pleasant (~70º) with little wind (eta ~11:30AM). The terrain is mostly rocky with dirt, saw a few very small patches of ice. The surprise to get to the summit is climbing boulders to the top.

  1. Hi Michelle,

Congrats on completing this peak. What time did you finish and how long did it take? I am trying to figure out if it is possible to hike this in the morning, and attend a friends birthday in Indian Wells in the evening. Thanks for the help!
