This was my final peak in the Nor Cal Six Pack. I had done all the others much earlier in the year, but St Helena is a long way from my home in the Peninsula. Sunday was day 3 of my North Bay Nifty Ninety Peaks outing, with 9 Nifty Nineties (in Napa, Sonoma, Solano, and Contra Costa Counties) ascended over 3 days. Mt. St. Helena North Peak is #1 on the NN list and was my 8th Nifty Ninety of the weekend. Mt. St. Helena South Peak is #3 on the NN list and was my 9th Nifty Ninety of the weekend. Also stopped by East Peak, which is the Napa County High Point.
It was a warm day, and an early start at 6:50 am helped, with most of the ascent in cooler weather. It was a beautiful, clear and calm day, with terrific views of the valleys below. I had the North Peak summit to myself. Very few people on the mountain until I was about halfway back down from the peaks. A great day out there!
