Well……we got a permit for June 11th  – and away we went, opps kinda early but it worked out with all of our schedules.  The plan to do Helen Friday  and Muir the Saturday. We knew Mother Nature would be in charge especially in early JUNE!… and boy was she. It started out w the road closed to trail head and a 2.8 warm up to the trailhead! Then snow snow and more snow…we had some since sunshine to start out but as we  got close to the summit (pretty damn close) ….and  it was a hard call to make but we decided to turn back as we were watching some pretty dark clouds creeping our way – as soon as we started back down, the snow really started falling w sat it out in the rocks for a bit then as it slowed down we ventured down. So no summit – boo, but I'm glad we respected the mountain.

We did hit Muir on Sat and had a blast, 20 ft of snow- EEK!
