Fired up the Prius and took the long drive up to Storm King from Tacoma. Weather was projected at 70% rain and I was ok with that, it just adds an extra element to the hike. Standing at the parking lot looking up, the peaks were covered in clouds and it didn't look at all promising for a view, but patience is a must and it proved to be a good thing. I didn't feel so much as a single drop of rain the whole time and even had sun shortly after leaving the top. I was however drenched in sweat! This is a great uphill hike and just enough switch backs to give ya a quick breather and then back to climbing. The ropes provide plenty of help to get up that slope and definitely bring a pair of gloves as many have stated.. Over all its great leg burner and definitely gets the heart pumping!!
