Arrived to the Dipsea trailhead at the start of sunrise. The Dipsea portion of the trail was wet and dark from the tree cover but the flowing water along the trail was a nice sight. Climbing the 14 rung ladder was a rush but felt safe enough because my hiking boot arch hugged each slick step. The sun was beginning to cast through the trees as I reached Pantoll campground. Next I headed for Old Stage Road to West Point Inn. From there I continued up to the East Peak Summit Fire Lookout. The views were STUNNING. Clear sky and no rain, a changed from all the recent weather. After lunch and snapping some photos I headed back down Old Stage Road past the Inn and back to Pantoll camp. I think took the Matt Davis trail back to Stinson Beach. Ocean views and lush waterfall crossings along the trail were amazing. This sunrise to sunset, sea to summit, hike was quite the experience. After months of hard work and determination I am very proud to say…I have officially completed the 4th Annual NorCal Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge! (perhaps the first of many!) I would highly recommend this challenge…it's life changing!! Special thanks to Jeff Hester for the Six-Pack Challenge for the Six-Pack Challenge and his SOCAL Hiker guides, especially the one for this hike which I found particularly helpful.
