It was foggy at Stinson Beach and surprising sunny once you start the first part of the Dipsead trail. The Steep Ravine travel is beautiful with ferns, moss/lichen everywhere; great to have a covered/shaded trail. Once you get to Pantoll campground/parking, it was warm and sunny. The Stage(coach) Fire Road wasn't too bad; partly shaded in many areas, but the Railroad Fire Road was mostly exposed and it was very hot afternoon. The views at the summit are spectacular, if you don't mind the rock scrambling. Make sure you take plenty of water from West Point Inn to make it up to the summit if you go in the summer(!)
There are so many trails on Mount Tam; will definitely be up there again, but maybe in the spring or late fall when it's not so hot.
