Got to Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve early and had to wait for gait to open at 7 am. The Bald Mountain trailhead parking area was locked, so drove to the summit, where I was able to catch the 7:18 sunrise. Started down the trail back to Bald Mountain trailhead. Quick turnaround for the 3.7 mile return to the summit. The trail is in fantastic shape despite the recent rains. Sky was clear for great views from the summit. A short quarter mile section of the Mt. Umunhum trail is closed from the east summit.
