It was my first time to go through Sierra Madre (did Chantry Flats years ago). Started at 0545, a bit chilly but it eventually warmed up.
It was a relentless continuous incline all the way through. Trail was busy towards the start then thinned out further along.
Very impressed with the maintenance of this trail. Cosmic cafe was closed, bathroom was open and a water source is available.
Clocked close to 15.5 miles. It was a very long day.
